Yesterday (referring to 26th September 2010), I had a dream of us going on armageddon. Sort of. The whole world is in darkness only leaving the moon shines bright in the night. People were scared, went to
prepare stuffs at points I didnt understand. Honestly I dont have a clue why I have to put this here in my blog LOL.
OK, back to the point I went to 1borneo and spent my dineros on este un groupo which is Linkin Park. I like this guys so much from those Hybrid Theory years and even from the last album, Minutes to Midnight, which sounded like a U2 wannabe. huhuhu. yea i mean a'huhuhu'. The eagerness flowed from undernea
th my armpit (there goes again with my craps), I ripped the cd and listened to the songs. So here's my so-called review of the songs. (** may contain spoilers)
1. The Requiem - this is an intro, piano sounding song, and of course creativity flows in the melody. Contains excerpts of lyrics from The Catalyst sung by a girl. umm... nice for an intro in which i expect for electronically based band. sort of. 7/10
2. The Radiance - Robert Oppenhemmer speech excerpt from a function which i am not certain of. He's an American theoretical physicist. Well, what can Linkin Park and this guy have in common if not engineering by musics and physics. How can that go through. 5/10.
3. Burning In The Skies - Indie, Brit sounding medium paced song, in the end of similar to 'New Divide' riffs. 7/10
4. Empty Spaces - Just like the name, its the sound of the crickets! LOLOL. Not even a song and some military soldiers shouting as the background effect. Whats the point of filling this space for this man... hmm... not giving stars because its just a 'filler'.
5. When they Come For Me - Ah... finally Mike is rapping, miss that. Like, miss la caca! Sound like some tribe drum pounding musics, plus the lalala singing effect like some tribes somewhere around the world. Ok nice and creative for now... 8/10
6. Robot Boy - I LIKE THE PIANO INTRO. As far as I am concerned, the songs, have nothing to do with metal or rock. Its too much electronica-like, something like breaking the habit, with Chester's vocals. 7/10
7. Jornada Del Muerto - Es 'The Journey of the dead' en Ingles. This is another skit maybe. This album has too many wasted slots for some remixes of merely below 2 minutes.
8. Waiting For The End - Mike's rapping? singing? sounds like a reggae tone way of singing. its 311 meets U2. Wow I can make an equation out of it. hahaha. 7.5/10
9. Blackout - Parsi? Arabian? Thats the intro effect like. They did some research of looking for the most creative yet sound effects. mmm. Chester's like singing with Kesha or Katy Perry here, and suddenly shouting like shit. I am a huge fan of Linkin Park, but this is too weird... its not rock sounding more pop. Mike sings. mmm... 6/10
10. Wretches and kings -Ah, sounds something of the 90's- 00's. Nu-metal influeces are in this song... Mike raps, Chester sings, Joe scratches. Not their backs but on the turntables. More on Robert speech can be heard here along the song. Tribute to Hybrid, 8.5/10.
11. Wisdom Justice And Love - Martin Luther King's speech is intepreted in which as if he's expressing a poet plus piano melody... again, skit.
12. Iridescent - Mike sings 'humbly' with, I bet, himself playing the piano. He should be doing a solo album. LOL. Simple song, not rock, more Pop. Something of The Fray, OneRepulic. What seperates them is Linkin Park has more deep meaningful lyrics. Yes. 7.5/10
13. Fallout - Some sort of like an intro to The Catalyst
14. The Catalyst - Yes the single. And of course my favourite as far. Nothing much to say its their roots. 8.5/10
15. The Messenger - Guitar strumming plus Chester's voice. Remember Knocking On Heaven's Door if its acoustic. Something like this. man... It sounded so not original... 6/10
Overall:7.8/10.
The Documentary - I can see how things went on for the search of the wackiest, funniest, weirdest, dopest sound they could get. The months of doing the album before the due date of album delivery. Cool stuffs. 8/10.
The verdict: Ugh, I dont know, maybe I should listen to it a couple more times so that I can get a flow. Not much of a huge marvellous first impression from a band that I like. Its so pop. So, pop. Its like Linkin Park is getting softer. I dont expect teenage angst anyways. Its matured, in which its something in league with those pop alternative bands. or even rappers. hahaha... oh well... Kudos Linkin Park, for making me eager to get your upcoming album (if any). Arghhh LINKIN PARK!!!~ ayoyoyo...
